Apparently Real Networks is making their downloads compatible with the ipod. You would think Apple would be happy, apparently they are not. That’s the thing I don’t really understand about iPods, why aren’t they compatible with more file formats? Creating proprietary hardware is basically what sunk Apple’s ship in the first place. You would think Jobs would have learned his lesson after losing 90% of the market to a product with an open architecture. Oh well, I guess it just leaves the door open for Gates & Co. , again.
