Looks like Tonic, the avant garde music hangout, is on the ropes. There are a series of benefit concerts coming up soon (Ben Lee, Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono, just to name a few), they are looking to raise $100K fast. I don’t think they are over a barrell with their lease, a la Bottom Line, but the building is in disrepair and the neighborhood is on the rise. Good luck to them.

PPS Personally, I am kind of bummed I missed Devendra Banhart at Tonic on Monday night, I didn’t even know it was happening until after it was done.
