Antony & The Johnsons – I am a Bird Now
His voice reminds of a cross between Jeff Buckley and Boy George. Buckley seemed to strain on the falsettos, but Antony has the pipes to carry them off. I like this album, but it may be an acquired taste for some. As an aside, I saw Antony perform a version of Neil Young’s “A Man Needs A Maid” at the Neil Young Hal Willner tribute in Prospect Park and it was excellent.
