No doubt in response to the latest fed rate hike, (and Emigrant Direct), HSBC online savings account has raised its interest rate to 4.0%. ING Direct, has responded with an increase to a paltry 3.5%. Personally, I will be moving my funds over to HSBC, their website is infinitely better than Emigrant and you have ready access to your funds through their physical branches. ING Direct, though no longer a leader in rates, still holds the title of best website and best customer service.
