Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint’s acclaimed live show in support of their collaborative album The River in Reverse is the subject of the DVD Hot As a Pistol, Keen As a Blade, due Nov. 21 via Hip-O/UME. The film was recorded July 3 at Montreal’s Pleins feux Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier with Costello’s band the Imposters and the Crescent City Horns.

“Hot As a Pistol” sports nearly two hours of live performances, from “The River in Reverse” tracks like the title song, “Who’s Gonna Help Brother Get Further” and “Six-Fingered Man” to Costello solo material such as “Monkey to Man,” “Tears Before Bedtime,” “Watching the Detectives” and “Clubland.”
