SingStar Pop | Giving Karaoke Indie Cred (sort of)
Music, Tech April 14th, 2007
SingStar Pop is a new game for the PS2 that is (almost) cool enough to play at a Williamsburg loft party. The game comes with 2 USB microphones that let you sing along to the real videos of Franz Ferdinand, The Clash, U2 and The Raconteurs (and 26 other tracks). In addition to the lyrics, the game displays the song’s melody on the screen in musical notes. You get points based on how close you sound to the original song. I’ve never been big on Karaoke, but this thing sounds pretty addictive. Check out the full US track listing (along with Intl versions) on Wikipedia.
