The National | United Palace Theatre, May 7th, 2007
Live Music May 8th, 2007Sometimes being the opening act is a thankless job, especially, when to paraphrase Billy Joel, “you know it ain’t me that they’re coming to see.” The National went on right at 8:00 PM last night and to be honest, most folks didn’t seem to care. Unfortunately, having a disinterested audience is something that The National is probably a little too familiar with despite the high quality of their last two releases (Alligator and The Boxer). Having said all that, The National will soon have their time in the sun during their upcoming five night sold out residency at the Bowery Ballroom. Real fans already have tickets to those shows (so I guess I’m not a real fan, eh). A few good pictures below.
