Wakey! Wakey! at the Mercury Lounge (12/12/07)

Though I almost didn’t make it, I’m happy to report that I had a great time last night (Dec 12) at the Wakey!Wakey! CD release party. Frontman Michael Grubbs and his band of 15 supporting musicians definitely showed off their ‘A’ game to the capacity crowd at the Mercury Lounge. The new record, (which was mostly recorded live at Pianos back in April of this year), is called Silent As a Movie (Family Records) and it’s really good. If you haven’t had the chance to see Wakey!Wakey! live, then I suggest: 1) you change that, and 2) you go out and buy this new record now.
