Her name is Laura Marling and she’s set to play a bunch of local gigs in advance of the release of her debut album, Alas I Cannot Swim (EMI). In a novel effort to motivate to people to buy records again (and give something back to the fans, I suppose), Alas I Cannot Swim will be released on February 4, 2008 in a special “song box” format. The “song box” package will contain the CD, tickets to a show in the form of a redeemable code, and special mementos relating to each song on the album.
