Laura Marling at Union Hall
Live Music January 21st, 2008Laura Marling and Marcus “Panda” Mumford at Union Hall (01/18/07)

On Friday of last week, UK teen phenom Laura Marling played the downstairs room at Union Hall before an attentive audience filled with music industry types, ex-pats and bloggers (well, at least four that I knew of). Personally, I thought she had great songs, but at this point in her career, her stage presence still needs a little work. She’s only 17, so I guess this will come with time, but for starters, she needs to stare at the invisible music stand a little less and try and connect with the audience a little more. I’m sure you’ll hear more from Laura in the future, and like I mentioned before, her debut album drops on February 4, 2008.
Punkphoto has a nice post over here with some videos and more photos from the show.
I’ve got a couple more Laura shots after the jump. Check out my flickr set over here. Oh yeah, I also stuck around for The Lovely Sparrows, check out that flickr set over here.

ha thanks for this! yes we can’t wait for the album, it will be nice to hear how strong she is as a singer/songwriter without her gazing off into space…
