A Late Night Comedy Brawl

Not sure if you have been following the late night comedy feud between Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Conan O’Brien but it all came to a head on Monday night on Conan’s show with somewhat humourous results. Take a look at what happened below:

In fact, their fake battle royal has reached such epic proportions, even the old gray lady managed to chime in about it the other day:

At its root, the “feud” between Mr. O’Brien and his rivals originated with a political boast. Mr. O’Brien and Mr. Colbert both returned in January from sabbaticals imposed by the writers’ strike with a similar joke: Each sought to claim some credit for the rising fortunes (at least then) of Mike Huckabee, the Republican presidential candidate from Arkansas

After weeks of sniping at one another from their various desks, they managed to pull off a comedy coup on Monday, and not a moment too soon, as their shows have lost viewers during the strike, according to Nielsen Media Research. Mr. O’Brien, joined by Mr. Colbert, first appeared Monday on Mr. Stewart’s show; Mr. Stewart and Mr. O’Brien then joined Mr. Colbert on his show immediately after; and then they did their best “Three Stooges” (and Sharks and Jets) act on Mr. O’Brien’s show.
