A Celebration of Maurice Sendak at the 92nd St Y
Books, Readings and Talks September 15th, 2008
The Spike Jonze version of Where The Wild Things Are may be on the shelf right now (October 16, 2009 was the last release date I heard), but that’s not stopping Tony Kushner, Meryl Streep, James Gandolfini, Dave Eggers, Spike Jonze, Linda Emond, Catherine Keener, Stephen Greenblatt and others from putting on a celebration for Maurice Sendak’s 80th Birthday tonight the 92nd St Y. As for the ill-fated movie version of Wild Things, Sendak recently told the NY Times that he was “thrilled” with Jonze’s film, (despite the studio’s widely reported misgivings).
