Thriller Live (West End, London)
NOTE: This is not the same show that is coming to Broadway (as far as I can tell).
The Nederlander Organization said in a statement that it had acquired the rights to produce a musical based on the Michael Jackson album “Thriller” and its groundbreaking video, in which the King of Pop transforms into a werewolf while he’s on a date. The production will feature songs from the “Thriller” album as well as Mr. Jackson’s record “Off the Wall.” Mr. Jackson is expected to participate in the musical’s creation. [NYTimes.com]

From someone that grew up in the 80s where Thriller was a means for living, I can’t say that I am happy to see it becoming a musical. It’d be like remaking Casablanca for someone that grew up in the 40s. It will never get as good of ratings as people would like.
