Hot on the heels of his new album (Working On A Dream), The Boss played the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIII and here’s what the 12 minute set list looked like:

Tenth Avenue Freezeout
Born to Run
Working on a Dream
Glory Days

As for finally making the decision to accept the gig at age 59, here’s what Bruce told Jon Pareles of the New York Times:

“It was sort of, well, if we don’t do it now, what are we waiting for?” he said. “I want to do it while I’m alive.” [NYTimes.com]

In the same article, Bruce also made a mea culpa regarding his recent decision to sell a new Greatest Hits package exclusively at Wal-Mart.

…Mr. Springsteen said the decision was made too hastily. “We were in the middle of doing a lot of things, it kind of came down and, really, we didn’t vet it the way we usually do,” he said. “We just dropped the ball on it.” Instead of offering the exclusive collection to Wal-Mart, “given its labor history, it was something that if we’d thought about it a little longer, we’d have done something different.” He added, “It was a mistake. Our batting average is usually very good, but we missed that one. Fans will call you on that stuff, as it should be.” [NYTimes.com]

For those who were more interested in the ads than the game (Steelers won 27-23), Hulu has all of the ads archived over here.

Video of the Boss’ 12 minute halftime performance after the jump (while it lasts). Tickets for Bruce’s 2009 tour go on sale today (Feb 2).
