Broken Social Scene, Andrew Bird and The Time Traveler’s Wife

…a friend of ours just saw an early-bird test screening of the film and told us four members of the expanding and ever-evolving line-up, including Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff are featured in a wedding scene playing undisclosed BSS track which eventually morphs into a quick snippet medley of Joy Division’s classic, “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” [The Playlist]
As you may have also heard, the author Audrey Niffenegger, who penned the bestselling book, just sold the rights to her second novel, “Her Fearful Symmetry,” to Scribner for nearly 5 million dollars. How does this all relate to Andrew Bird, you may ask? Well, I recently read this interview with Mr. Bird in New York magazine, where he made the following quip:
Were your parents musical?
My mom’s an artist. She does copperplate etchings. Audrey Niffenegger, who’s a fairly famous novelist now, was my mother’s teacher, and she did my first couple of record covers… [NYMag.com]
Wonder if the final soundtrack will have any Andrew Bird tunes on it? I guess we’ll have to wait until Feb 2010 to find out.
