From April 1-30, 2009, CBJC is hosting a month long jubilee celebration of African American classical music-Jazz, at diverse venues such as: Weeksville Heritage Center, Brooklyn Historical Society, BAMcafe Live, Hitchcock Institute for Studies in American Music at Brooklyn College, Dweck Center for Contemporary Culture-Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch, Sugar Hill Restaurant & Supper Club, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, Concord Baptist Church of Christ as well as community venues. The back bone of this grass roots Brooklyn jazz festival is its local musicians and the community at large. [AllAboutJazz.com]
