Green Apple Festival “Thank You” Concerts Announced

Green Apple Festival and Earth Day Network today released the 2009 line up for the free “Green Apple Thank You Concerts,” celebratory performances at leading venues for volunteers participating in their coordinated, simultaneous volunteer actions held in major cities across the country over Earth Day Weekend. On Sunday, April 19th an upbeat and eclectic line-up of musicians will perform “with friends” at music venues in each city. Meanwhile, the national flagship event, “Earth Day on the National Mall” – with talent to be announced soon – will be held festival style at the National Mall in Washington, DC.

The New York City free “Thank You” concert featuring Deep Banana Blackout will take place at the Bowery Ballroom on April 19, 2009.

Atlanta, GA – Galactic & Friends with opener Victoria George at Variety Playhouse
Galactic is a leading funk and jazz instrumental band from New Orleans, Louisiana. George is a country/rock singer/songwriter.

Austin, TX – Travis Tritt & Friends at Antone’s *(on Monday April 20)

Denver, CO – Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk & Friends at Cervante’s Masterpiece

Los Angeles, CA – The Hotel Cafe Presents Cary Brothers & Friends at The Roxy
