BLK JKS at Le Poisson Rouge (03/27/09)

South Africa’s BLK JKS played a couple of shows here before they headed off to Austin for SXSW, but up until now their summer tour schedule was more or less empty, save for one appearance at Seattle’s Sasquatch Music Festival. I caught them when they played Union Hall, and was pretty impressed with their live set, so I was psyched to find out they are coming back to town to play the larger (but still intimate) Bell House on May 27 (Buy Tickets). Though I haven’t received any official North American tour announcement, I was able to find four new US dates listed on the Internets. BLK JKS recorded their debut full length record earlier this year in Bloomington, IA at Russian Recording and though nobody at the label was able to provide me with a specific date, it should be released in late summer.
