In an effort to “put some asses in the seats” Live Nation is continuing to mount some aggressive discount campaigns this summer. This Wednesday (July 22) is the first “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” promotion where purchasers of lawn tickets at selected Live Nation venues will receive 50% off the total price and fees for two tickets. For a list of the participating venues, take a look over here. (As usual, the BOGO deal includes tickets for shows at Nikon at Jones Beach, Bay Stage at Jones Beach and the PNC Bank Arts Center.)

If that wasn’t enough, Live Nation is also selling tickets to hundreds of concerts, including club and theatre shows, for just $5* through Citibank and Subway. The Citi $5 ticket promotion is currently set to expire on August 31st and the password for the $5 ticket promotion is the first 6 digits of your CitiCard or 546616 if you have no CitiCard. The password for the Subway $5 tickets is Subway$5tix and as you might expect, it includes The Roseland Ballroom, The Hammerstein Ballroom, The Gramercy Theatre, and The Fillmore at Irving Plaza (click the individual link for a list of $5 shows at each venue).
