Hmmm, I was speculating a little on the Def Poetry Jam, but the guy (Carlos Andrés Gómez) had posted it to his MySpace page.

Shouldn’t be too much longer until we get the final info up and out the door; just getting together our brand new website!
It’s worth noting that while quite a few paid shows take place at Rumsey Playfield, they’re not officially part of the SummerStage season. While we do have a handful of paid shows on the schedule that help pay for the season, the mission of the organization is to provide free entertainment and the vast majority of our programming is free to the public.
Oh, as long as I have your ear: SummerStage is going to be utilizing our Twitter account a lot more intensely this year. It’ll be the best place to find out about new guests, shows and we’ll also be doing updates during the day of shows to let folks know how long the lines are, how long they’ll likely have to wait to get in and when shows are at capacity. We hope it’ll make your life a lot easier; follow us @summerstage

I know that there is a difference between the “Rumsey Playfield” shows and the Summerstage shows, that’s why I used “/” at the top of this post. Since the venue is the same, most people don’t get the distinction though.

I get it, makes sense. The only thing is that occasionally people complain about how “all the summerstage shows are so expensive and i thought they were supposed to be free” and nine times out of ten they are free! It’s that shows in the space do not necessarily equal “summerstage shows”.
Anyways, full lineup is coming; trust me when I say we’re champing at the bit to get this out the door.
