Because I imagine it’s hard to give up a good thing, Pixies have announced yet another set of Doolittle tour dates. As the “Lost Cities” moniker suggests, this round of shows is geared towards visiting those towns and hamlets that were left out of previous Pixies tour itineraries. While there is no proper NYC show this time around, the band will be visiting the nearby Wellmont Theatre on Oct 27 and Asbury Park (Convention Hall or Paramount Theatre I’m guessing) on Oct 28.
Before that Pixies tour gets underway, the artist known as Black Francis (aka Pixies lead singer Frank Black) will be embarking on a solo acoustic tour this July with a rotating crew of openers. Black’s special guest for the show at Le Poisson Rouge on July 24 (Buy Tickets) will be none other than his musical collaborator Reid Paley. Francis and Paley recently recorded an album in Nashville entitled Black Paisley and it’s coming out on September 5, 2011 in the UK and Europe on Cooking Vinyl and on September 13, 2011 in the US and Canada on Sonic Unyon.
