I know I’m a day late and a dollar short on this one, but just in case you didn’t look at the Internet in the past two days, here’s the 2011 CMJ Music Marathon initial lineup. See you on the LES kids!

CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival has announced its first round of performing bands and artists including: riot grrrl supergroup Wild Flag, chillwave forefather Neon Indian, Fiery Furnace sister Eleanor Friedberger, Portlandia psych outfit Portugal. The Man, garage girl group Dum Dum Girls and Capitol Hill rollers US Royalty.

A true international incident, this year’s Marathon also welcomes the following groups to New York City: São Paulo’s sexiest New Ravers CSS, Puerto Rican punks Davila 666, English electros Metronomy, Liverpudlian skiffle mates The Wombats, married Montreal duo Handsome Furs, Norse rockers Kvelertak and South Africa’s biggest rock band The Parlotones.

New York-bred hip-hop will have a fine showing as well, with Brooklyn’s own Talib Kweli, the king of Queens Pharoahe Monch and NYU wordsmith Jean Grae scheduled to perform.

Rounding out this first lineup announcement are emerging indie acts like Class Actress, EMA, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Givers, Art vs. Science, Viva Brother, Sea of Bees, and Memoryhouse.

Hundreds more acts will be announced in the coming weeks, so please visit cmj.com/marathon for the latest lineup updates. CMJ Music Marathon 2011 will be held in New York City from October 18-22.
