Tosh Tour 2012
Timed conveniently with the premiere of the fourth season of Tosh.0 on Comedy Central, Daniel Tosh announced a bunch of new dates for his Tosh Tour Twenty Twelve today. The tremendously popular Tosh will be playing Radio City Music Hall on Apr 13, 2012. Tickets are on Internet presale now and the password is ANAL, regular on sale begins Friday, Feb 3 at 10AM EST.
Starting its fourth season tonight [Jan 31 -ed.], the show’s gleeful embrace of bad taste and its plethora of inside jokes have helped harness a devoted young audience. “Tosh.0″ averaged 4.3 million viewers age 18-49, up 63% from the previous season, according to Comedy Central. (“The Daily Show” averaged 2.3 million, though it produced more than 100 episodes last year.) “Tosh.0″ was the No. 1 cable comedy series in 2011 among viewers age 18-34, the network said. It’s a double win for Comedy Central: Advertisers salivate over the audience and the network can turn the series out on the cheap. “The show is incredibly inexpensive given its relative success. It’s a high value proposition,” Siskel said. (Tosh declined an interview request.)

“Tosh.0″ is scheduled for 30 episodes this season. To stay on top of pop culture news and the latest Internet memes, the show is taped on Thursdays to air on the following Tuesdays. Three researchers scour the Web for fodder for the show’s writers. That’s lead them to some obscure corners of the Web. “Without revealing any of our trade secrets, let’s just say that a lot of it points to Asia. There never seems to be a limit to the weirdness there,” said Siskel, who is developing another show for “Comedy Central” about a critic who reviews life experiences. [WSJ.com]
