The Red Light Management party at Stubb’s was just one of the dozen or so shows that the much buzzed about Alabama Shakes played at SXSW 2012. Though Boys & Girls doesn’t come out until April 10, SXSW marked the beginning of the full court press for their new LP. When I started this post, the band was scheduled to play a pair of record release shows at the Bowery Ballroom on April 11 and MHOW on April 12, but they’ve since announced two more dates at the Roseland Ballroom on May 20 and 21 where they will open for none other than Jack White himself.
