See a preview screening of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival special jury prize-winning documentary, “Searching for Sugar Man” – a story of a South African musical phenomenon and two fans’ struggle to find out what really happened to their musician hero. Then listen in on a conversation with New York Times chief pop music critic Jon Pareles, the film’s director, Malik Bendjelloul, and its compelling subject, the singer/songwriter Rodriguez, who will perform a number from the film. “Searching for Sugar Man” tells the story of a South African musical phenomenon and two fans’ struggle to find out what really happened to their musician hero.
In addition to the Times Talks event, Rodriguez will be playing the Highline Ballroom in NYC on Aug 31 (Buy Tickets). Searching for Sugarman opens in theatres in NY & LA on July 27.
