Full press release after the jump.

Union Pool & Jameson Irish Whiskey, in collaboration with From Brooklyn, With Love, are very proud to present a Hurricane Sandy Relief Concert on Saturday, December 8th.

The benefit concert will feature a headlining performance from NYC’s legendary: YEAH YEAH YEAHS.

Union Pool’s intimate jewel-box theatre located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn will be the setting for this very limited capacity, special performance.

All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to Waves For Water, an international surf-based non-profit organization, whose positive, “no-nonsense” approach has provided clean water to victims of natural disasters around the globe. This past month marks the beginning of their Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative, the first North America-focused relief effort from the charity. The focus of the Initiative goes beyond clean water and centers around first response, rubble removal and rebuilding efforts all across the affected New York, New Jersey and North Carolina shorelines.

Waves For Water’s founder and former professional surfer Jon Rose had this to say in a recent press release, “Many of our favorite East Coast surfing epicenters are completely wiped out and under water,” said Rose, who’s spearheaded previous relief efforts to countries like Haiti, post-tsunami Japan, North Korea and Afghanistan. “More than anything, there’s a need for resources and manpower to restore these precious stretches of coastline.”

Opening the evening is HIGGINS WATERPROOF BLACK MAGIC BAND featuring Tunde Adebimpe of TV on The Radio and NYC vetaran drummer Ryan Sawyer.

DJing throughout the night will be Brooklyn production duo CREEP.

Doors for the event are at 7pm.

Tickets range from $75 to $100 and will be available two per person, starting at noon on Tuesday, November 27th through Brown Paper Tickets here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/300958
