Bob Dylan - Tell Tale Signs

The folks at Sony/Columbia have dug another Bob Dylan album out of the vaults and this one is called Tell Tale Signs - The Bootleg Series Vol. 8. The “new” record comes out on October 7 and in the mean time Bob will be keeping busy with gigs at Virgin Mobile Festival this weekend and then our very own Prospect Park on August 12th. If all goes well, I should have lots of pictures from Bob’s set at the Virgin Festival, along with a bunch of other goodies starting next week.

Tell Tale Signs features previously unreleased recordings and alternate versions of tracks from sessions which generated some of Bob Dylan’s most acclaimed and commercially successful albums from the last two decades, including Time Out Of Mind, Love And Theft, Modern Times and Oh Mercy.

Though it says that the show is sold out on the Celebrate Brooklyn! website, it seems that tickets go on sale to the general public today at 10am.

Pulitzer Prize winner, Bob Dylan just announced a show at the Prospect Park Bandshell on August 12, 2008. Presale tickets are available now (Password: Tilden). Regular tickets go on sale June 13 at 12:00 noon.

I’m Not There on DVD (May 6, 2008)

The DVD for the (ambitious but lukewarmly received) Bob Dylan biopic, I’m Not There, comes out on Tuesday, May 8, and in honor of its’ release I’m giving away a copy of the very impressive double CD soundtrack to the film. The two-disc, 34 song collection includes newly-recorded cover versions of Bob Dylan songs from the film celebrated contemporary musicians including Eddie Vedder, Sonic Youth, Stephen Malkmus, Cat Power, Sufjan Stevens, John Doe, Karen O, Jeff Tweedy, Willie Nelson, Antony, Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova and more. I’m Not There includes the original Bob Dylan recording of the song, a rare oft-bootlegged outtake from 1967 which has never been available on any official release.
