Aside from the Man In Gray reunion, there is another auspicious event happening tonight (Feb 20) in New York City. Michael Grubbs, aka the musical phenomenon known as Wakey!Wakey!, is having a record release party for his brand new studio album, Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, “Mike likes the spectacle!“, and with a dozen or so musicians on stage, tonight’s show should be one for the books.

Saturday February 20th we will celebrate the release of our new album “Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…” at New York’s Mercury Lounge! We hope you can all join us! If you can’t catch Mike on stage this weekend, you can watch him on screen on the CW’s One Tree Hill, where art imitates life as Grubbs plays a bartender/musician named “Grubbs“. To promote the new record, and his appearances on OTH, Mike is performing a series of concerts “live on Facebook” via USTREAM every other Monday night starting Feb 15 (so the next one should be on March 1, according to my calendar). One last thing, if you are going to the show tonight, make sure to get there early enough to catch opening act Harper Blynn, who you may have seen headlining the Bowery Ballroom at one time or other as Pete and J. Harper Blynn, which consists of Pete Harper, J. Blynn, Sarab Singh and Whynot, will be playing songs off of their upcoming debut, Loneliest Generation, which comes out (again?) on May 11 via Baby Jackal Records.
