Lambchop hardly ever tours the US as a full band, but on Wednesday night (Mar 31) you can catch a glimpse of what it’s like to see the Kurt Wagner with a full compliment when the 92Y Tribeca screens Lambchop’s show stealing performance at 2009’s XX Merge (Buy Tickets). There will be a conversation with Kurt and Anna Thorngate following the screening (and possibly even some songs). Lambchop: Live from XX Merge is available as an MP3 with a high def or standard def video download over at the Merge Store.

Film | LAMBCHOP LIVE AT XX MERGE

Join us for a special screening of this concert film, with Kurt Wagner of Lambchop in person for a post-screening discussion. Lambchop has been on the Merge label since 1993, releasing a string of widely varied but consistently brilliant records. But the live Lambchop experience has been somewhat elusive in the U.S. While the band has toured the gilded theaters of Europe and elsewhere for nearly two decades, the Nashville group has seldom toured their home country. For Merge’s 20th anniversary, Lambchop performed live, and the show was captured in this great concert video. Preceded by Buttons, a 7-minute short film featuring Kurt Wagner playing a song in a barbershop.
