2010 Sled Island Festival (June 30 – July 3)

Thought I would cut and paste this press release before I turned in for the night. Not the most impressive list of headliners at Calgary’s Olympic Plaza this year, but like CMJ, I think people are drawn to this festival more for the sheer number of bands in attendance (over 200 this year) and the relatively low cost of admission. No Arcade Fire on the main stage, kind of a disappointment (I’m sure it is for the festival organizers as well.)

Sled Island Announces Full Band Lineup, Mainsite Schedule + Tickets Available Now!

Sled Island Music and Arts Festival 2010 is pleased to announce the complete music festival lineup featuring over 190 bands performing at multiple venues in Calgary, Alberta from June 30 – July 3, 2010. For a complete list of bands visit: www.sledisland.com

The Sled Island main all-ages outdoor site will take place at Olympic Plaza (228 8 Avenue SE) July 2 from 4pm – 11pm and July 3 from noon to 11pm. Here is a schedule of performances:

Main stage individual day passes are now on sale for $75 (plus service fees) at www.sledisland.com. General admission festival passes are on sale for $170 (plus service fees). That’s $42.50 per day for all 4 days of music with guaranteed access to both days of main site programming. A very limited amount of guaranteed all-access VIP passes are available for $350 (plus fees).
