Sigur Rós Releasing a New Album, Playing Prospect Park

Sigur Rós – Valtari
Valtari

Icelandic art pop stars Sigur Rós will release their new album Valtari on May 29, 2012.

i really can’t remember why we started this record, i no longer know what we were trying to do back then. i do know session after session went pear-shaped, we lost focus and almost gave up…did give up for a while. but then something happened and form started to emerge, and now i can honestly say that it’s the only sigur rós record i have listened to for pleasure in my own house after we’ve finished it. – georg [www.sigur-ros.co.uk/valtari]

Sigur Rós will be hitting the road in support of Valtari this summer and they’ll be stopping by the Prospect Park Bandshell on July 31, 2012. Tickets for that show go on Amex presale starting April 18 at noon, general on sale begins on April 20 at noon.
