AOL has shut down its MusicNow service and transferred its 350,000 members to Napster, this move comes right on the heels of a similar announcement from Virgin Digital. On January 4, Virigin Digital closed its US based operations, and redirected its existing users to Napster. The addition of Virgin Digital and Music Now’s subscribers will be a welcome shot in the arm for Napster which had itself up until recently been the subject of sale rumors.
