Canadian singer/songwriter/Broken Social Scene member, Leslie Feist, has a feature interview with Jon Pareles in this Sunday’s New York Times Arts & Leisure Section. Feist’s new album, The Reminder is set to drop on May 1. Hey, I love Canadians, but I’m no Feist fanboy like BrooklynVegan; she’s going to have win me over for the first time with this record. In any event, Pareles sure seems to like it:
It’s the album that should transform her from the darling of the indie-rock circuit to a full-fledged star, and do it without compromises. “The Reminder” is a modestly scaled but quietly profound pop gem: sometimes intimate, sometimes exuberant, filled with love songs and hints of mystery.

Feist already has some European and Canadian dates scheduled, but I can’t find detailed information about a US tour. According to the Times article she is playing the Town Hall on June 11th (tickets not on sale yet for New York).
