José González – Down The Line

Tonight (12/09/07), the Swedish acoustic phenomenom, José González, rolls into Webster Hall for what could be his last local show in support of his new record In Our Nature, (for a little while at least). Tickets are $20 and should be available at the door (though Ticketmaster no longer seems to have any).

The Cotton Jones Basket Ride

A little further south and to the east a bit, The Cotton Jones Basket Ride (Page France side project), Erik Petersen (of Mischief Brew), Franz Nicolay (of The Hold Steady) and Danbert Nobacon (of Chumbawumba) are all on the same (very interesting) bill at the Mercury Lounge. If you’re going to hit this show, I’d recommend getting there early to catch Michael Nau and The Cotton Jones Basket Ride. They will be performing songs from their Limited Edition 5-song Storybook EP, as well as some material off of their forthcoming full-length debut Paranoid Cocoon out in the new year. Tickets will be available at the door ($10).
