Tim and I headed over to Union Hall on Friday night to catch the late show featuring Dead Confederate and Kuroma. Though it’s got a little more bite than things I usually spin around here, I was impressed with the soaring gothic Americana that Dead Condfederate was able to produce within the confines of Union Hall’s flooded basement. If all goes well, and if their performance on Saturday night is any indication, things look like they are going well, I think these boys could be the next break out band on the club scene. Opener Kuroma were impressive too, with at least a couple of catchy tunes that made me want to go back and re-listen to their EP, Paris. While Dead Confederate are headed out of town for a bunch of tour dates (though they will be back at Maxwell’s on December 20), Kuroma will back here for CMJ.

Lots more of Tim‘s pictures after the jump.
