When I was writing up this post, I was a little surprised to find out that Razorlight released their third album called Slipway Fires way back in November of 2008, but then I realized that the new album won’t actually be available in the US until January 20, 2009. Granted I thought their self titled follow up to Up All Night was a very disappointing record (maybe even an awful record), but I’m willing to give Johnny Borrell and his band another chance with Slipway Fires. No doubt they are planning a full tour to coincide with the album’s domestic release date, but those dates aren’t available yet (to me at least), what we do know is that they will be playing a show at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza on January 12, 2009. Tickets for the Irving Plaza show go on Nokia Presale today (Decemeber 4, 2008) at 10:00 AM, the password is SEAT. Public on sale is December 5, 2008 at 12 noon.
