Bowerbirds at The Knitting Factory (10/18/07)
Okay, most of the Pitchfork Music Festival‘s bill has already been announced, but the other day they just announced a couple more acts (including the above pictured Bowerbirds) to make the whole thing complete. (I guess if you read Pitchfork daily you may have heard about this already.)
The 2009 Pitchfork Music Festival is proud to announce the addition of Final Fantasy, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Bowerbirds, and Michael Columbia to the Saturday lineup and The Thermals and Killer Whales to the Sunday bill. The Pitchfork Music Festival has always been a fervent supporter of Chicago’s music scene, and is proud to include some of the city’s brightest lights, Killer Whales and Michael Columbia, in addition to the previously announced Dianogah and Disappears, and local icons The Jesus Lizard and Tortoise. Forty acts fill out the robust bill, making this once again the city’s most forward-thinking and adventurous festival lineup. The schedule will be announced in the coming weeks, but no matter how the performances are lined up, each day of the 2009 Pitchfork Music Festival provides an exceptional day of music and more from beginning to end, as it has for the past four years!
Ticket buyers can also pick the set lists for each of the bands performing on Friday night, and make selected requests for The Flaming Lips set on Sunday. The online ballot box will remain open until June 12th.
