Like fellow Summerstage performers, The Pretenders, tickets for The Black Crowes September 2 show at Central Park are also now available for 4 for $40 ($10 each) with the use of the Papa Johns password, PAPAJ (Buy Tickets). (They are also running the same 4 for the price of 3 promotion which you can purchase without a password.)
In other Crowes news, the band has announced that they are giving away the second disc of their new album for free via digitial download if you purchase the first disc, Before The Frost:
Anyone who buys that album will get a free download code for a second album, called “…Until the Freeze.”
The freebie will feature nine songs – eight new and original songs, plus a cover of Stephen Stills’ “So Many Times.”
Both albums were recorded live in front of an “intimate audience” of fans over a five night period at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY. [Hear This! (NYPost.com)]
I know everyone loves the idea of getting something for nothing, but when you’re paying $14.49 for a single album, it seems that the band has already factored the cost of the additional second “free” album into the single disc purchase price. In fact, I imagine that the Black Crowes will come out ahead of the game by giving away the “bonus disc” via digital download as opposed to producing and manufacturing a second physical CD (of course, I’m just talking out of my ass here).
