This announcement uncharacteristically slipped under my radar a few weeks ago, but the good news is that the Virgin Mobile Festival (USA) will return in 2010 and it will once again be free. Though the actual show dates and headliners are still TBA, festival organizers have confirmed that for the second year in a row, the event will be held at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington, DC Columbia, MD. Stay tuned to this space for more info!

The Virgin Mobile FreeFest will be back for another year at Merriweather Post Pavilion, organizers confirmed today.

And yes, as the name implies, it will be free again.

Though no headliners or dates have been picked yet, the festival is sure to be one of the region’s biggest live music events. [Midnight Sun]

The Merriweather Post Pavilion is not in Washington D.C. It’s in Columbia, MD.

I knew that was wrong when I was writing it, but I think I was too tired to look it up. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

For people NOT from MD, saying that Merriweather is in D.C. Is acceptable. Even though it is closer to Bmore.
