The National Curating Five Nights at “High Violet Annex”, High Violet LP Streaming on NYTimes.com Starting Friday

High Violet Annex
Download: The National – “Bloodbuzz Ohio”

Given the Brothers Dessner intimate ties to the indie music scene in NYC and elsewhere, the upcoming 5 nights worth of shows at the High Violet Annex (they’re not talking about the Tower Records space right?) should be something special. I’d look for sets from Sufjan Stevens, Shara Worden (aka My Brightest Diamond), Clogs, maybe The Breeders, and probably a surprise performance by The National themselves. In other “National” news, in response to a low quality leak of the new album, the band will be streaming High Violet in its entirety over at hipster central, aka the New York Times, starting tomorrow, Friday, April 23.

THE NATIONAL TO CURATE 5 NIGHTS OF EVENTS AT ‘THE HIGH VIOLET ANNEX PRESENTED BY OTHER MUSIC’ (VACANT SPACE ADJACENT TO OTHER MUSIC / DETAILS TO BE REVEALED SOON)

Celebrating the release of High Violet (May 11, 4AD), The National will take over the now-vacant space at 13 E 4th St next to Other Music in downtown NYC. Dubbed ‘The High Violet Annex’ the space will be the site of National curated events throughout the week.

More details to be revealed over the coming weeks at HighViolet.com

The Annex will be open:

Tue, 5/11 (7PM-9PM) Wed, 5/12 (7PM-9PM) Thu, 5/13 (7PM-9PM) Fri, 5/14 (8PM-10PM) Sat,5/15 (6PM-8PM)

UPDATE: The National will be appearing on WNYC’s Soundcheck at The Jerome L. Greene Space this Monday, April 26. Tickets are sold out.
