So instead of competing in a head-on Twitter battle with @CelebrateBklyn (like they did last year), the folks at Summerstage are going to be tweeting out one act from the official 2011 lineup every day for the next 20 days. The first official @Summerstage Twitter announcement will happen today (April 1) at noon, and will culminate with a full season announcement of over 300 artists at over 100 performances in all five boroughs on April 21st. In the world of unofficial announcements, The Verve Pipe will be playing the Rumsey Playfield at Central Park Summerstage on Jul 10, 2011. Not to be outdone, the good people at Celebrate Brooklyn! just announced (via Twitter) that their full summer line-up for the Prospect Park Bandshell will be announced on May 12 at Pier 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Speaking of which, they also announced a few free Celebrate Brooklyn! events at Pier 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park today via email blast:
