On January 8, 2006 The United States will increase most postal rates and fees by approximately 5.4 percent. This means 1 oz piece of first class mail will now cost 39 cents, postcards will cost 24 cents, and priority mail will cost $4.05 for 1 LB. I, for one, am displeased. Why don’t they just start charging people for postal supplies (tape, boxes, envelopes, etc.) and keep the rates down that way.
