The now more or less overexposed Raconteurs have been invited to perform as musical hosts at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards airing August 31st, 2006 at 8pm EST. The band will be performing at various times throughout the show and some of the performances will be available for streaming on demand during the festivities at http://www.vma.mtv.com.

Funny, for a band who had originally scheduled one North American date, they sure seem to be playing around a lot. They have also confirmed some more UK dates in October:
