A cornucopia of new releases this week here at the ‘Shine (thanks in large part, to my big win last night at “Name that Tune“). Here’s a rundown below:

Toronto’s uncuT will be playing Union Hall on July 20th. Their most recent record Modern Currencies, (available as import only), was recorded and engineered by Jon Drew (Uncut’s drummer and producer for both Tokyo Police Club, Magneta Lane and Cities in Dust).
After a string of dates opening for Arcade Fire, Annie Clark, otherwise known as St. Vincent will be making her way back to NYC and a headlining gig at The Bowery Ballroom on July 17th. Her new record, Marry Me, officially drops on July 10th.
After a heavy tour schedule, Elvis Perkins will be playing the Siren Festival on July 21st in support of his latest release, Ash Wednesday.
Sheffield’s The Long Blondes and Australia’s Wolf and Cub will not be making their way stateside this summer for any tour dates.
The late Nick Drake won’t be touring anytime soon, but on July 10th you can pick up his latest posthumous release, Family Tree, featuring never before heard recordings of cover tunes and originals unearthed from the vaults of the Drake Estate. The album chronicles Drake’s musical development in the years prior to the recording of his official debut, Five Leaves Left.
