All Points West Sunday Lineup Picks & Some Friday Photos

HOVA came out with the Beastie Boys’ classic “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” booming an proceeded to rap along to a good chunk of it, the crowd energetically taking care of the chorus for Jay. This led perfectly to one of Jay-Z’s newer hits “Brooklyn, Go Hard” and everything was off and running at that point. The crowd were throwing up their diamonds, Jay was hitting every lyrics of every verse, and the band were the tightest hip-hop band I have ever seen outside of The Roots! Their drummer might even give ?uestlove a run for his money! And I’m not kidding at all.

I have no idea how long the set lasted, I’m guessing it was like an hour and half, there was of course an encore, there was only one guest appearance (from Memphis Bleek, who spent most of the night on the stage), but the set list was unbelievable. It seriously spanned Jay’s entire career from Reasonable Doubt to a brand new accapella rhyme off of The Blueprint 3! It also included just about every hit single, “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)”, “Jigga What, Jigga Who”, “Big Pimpin'”, “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)”, “99 Problems”, “Dirt of Your Shoulders”, on and on and on! It was insane, new tunes mixing with old tunes and everything coming off so crisp. Man did I love that set. [PopTartsSuckToasted]
