Amy Sedaris‘ new book entitled Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People was released today (Nov 2) in hardcover and audiobook. Amy will be appearing on the CBS Early Show on Wednesday morning (Nov 3) and then at Barnes and Noble Union Square on Thursday night (Nov 4). You can view all of Amy’s Simple Times book tour dates over here.
Amy recently talked with The Sound of Young America‘s Jesse Thorn about her new book and basically described it as an “excuse to smoke pot and get dressed up in costumes” (well, she said something more or less along those lines). That interview, which took place during a live TSOYA taping at WYNC’s Greene Space, may have offended some of the more tender ears of public radio listeners (and possibly Amy’s publicist), so I’m not sure whether it will ever actually be broadcast. However, if you’re longing to hear the sweet sound of Amy Sedaris’ voice but can’t wait for her next radio interview to air, I’ve got the perfect contest for you. It turns out that I’m giving away an audiobook copy of Simple Times as read by Amy and her co-author Paul Dinello. To enter for a chance to win this fabulous prize, fill out the contest entry form after the jump. Contest ends November 10, 2010 at midnight, US entrants only please.
PS Jesse, feel free to chime in here.
