Glen Hansard will be performing a rare solo show on Feb 2 (Buy Tickets) at the City Winery. Also, as previously mentioned, The Frames frontman will be one of the many artists performing at the big Neil Young at Carnegie Hall tribute on February 10, 2011.

In other Glen Hansard news, the movie Once, featuring the music of The Swell Season, is being adapted into a Broadway musical with a planned fall 2011 opening.

The Irish playwright Enda Walsh (“Penelope”) and the Scottish director John Tiffany (“Black Watch”) will collaborate on the stage adaptation of the film “Once” that is planned for a fall opening on Broadway, the producers announced on Monday.

The show will also feature music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, who starred in the film, and design by Bob Crowley. Casting and a theater are still to be announced. [NYTimes.com]

Last but not least, The Swell Season will be performing at the Ann Arbor Folk Fest on January 29, 2011 (Buy Tickets).
