Spider-Man: Turn Up The Discounts

Spider-Man

Though it hasn’t officially “opened” yet, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark recently took a critical drubbing from most of the major theater critics including the New York Times’ own Ben Brantley:

…The sheer ineptitude of this show, inspired by the Spider-Man comic books, loses its shock value early. After 15 or 20 minutes, the central question you keep asking yourself is likely to change from “How can $65 million look so cheap?” to “How long before I’m out of here?”

Directed by Julie Taymor, who wrote the show’s book with Glen Berger, and featuring songs by U2’s Bono and the Edge, “Spider-Man” is not only the most expensive musical ever to hit Broadway; it may also rank among the worst. [NYTimes.com]

Though the show may prove to be critic proof in the long run, in the short run the producers have rolled out the promo code NEO927 from some exclusive savings from March 1–April 1, 2011. Discounts are available for center Orchestra seats row U through ZZ, side Orchestra seats row F through ZZ and Flying Circle seats row E through H on performances Tuesday through Friday including matinées.

PS According to another recent article in the NYTimes, Spider-Man’s producers have their eye on “script doctor” with comic book credentials.
