2012 CBGB Festival
On Saturday July 7th, 2012, CBGB will present a historic and unprecedented multistage outdoor free concert event in Times Square as part of the larger city wide CBGB Festival. The bands confirmed to appear are Superchunk, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, The Hold Steady, Upper West, Zulu Wave and GLINT. Featuring over 300 bands, the CBGB Festival has an incredible line up of live music stages, film premieres and screenings, rock-n-roll comedy and conference panels at 40-plus venues over the four days from July 5th to 8th, 2012. The first Annual CBGB Festival will stay true to the original mission of the CBGB & OMFUG club that once lived on the Bowery focusing on new music and emerging young bands. “In an effort to bring live music and concerts to the largest possible audience in the world, we proudly announce the details surrounding this historic free outdoor concert,” said Tim Hayes, one the owners of CBGB. “Anchored in Times Square and Central Park the annual CBGB Festival will present hundreds of musicians, bands, movie premieres, comedy showcases, conferences and workshops in New York City each year.”
