Shearwater

I’d love to write a long descriptive essay about this show, but it’s far too late and I am far too tired. Suffice to say it was an excellent show and I really dig the songs off of the new album. In what may come as no surprise to you, I also thought the old songs were great, and I especially liked the arrangements on the Palo Santo cuts.

Because the Shearwater show ended promptly at 10pm, I was able to make it back to Union Hall in time for the Cave Singers set. I really can’t say enough good things about this band, this was only my second time seeing them, but the songs sounded like classics already. Really, if you haven’t had the chance to see the Cave Singers live yet, you have to check them out, and while you’re at it, you might as well go buy their fine debut record, Invitation Songs. (Reminder: They’ll be at the Mercury Lounge tomorrow night (05/06) with Love as Laughter and The Acorn).
